Overview

The Program Medical Director is critical to the success of every Cogent practice within a hospital, and is the clinical leader of the program sharing overall program leadership with the Cogent Program Manager. Together, the Program Medical Director and Program Manager are responsible for the performance of the Cogent team and its specific goals.

Reporting Structure

The Program Medical Director reports to the Regional Medical Director.

Qualifications and Requirements:

? MD or DO degree ? ABIM or AOBIM certification in Internal Medicine. ? License (or eligible) to practice in the respective state ? Demonstrated leadership and management skills ? Knowledge of physician services documentation and coding compliance requirements ? Respect for financial decision making strategies ? Skill in physician recruitment and retention practices ? Experience in quality improvement initiatives, preferably with leadership responsibilities

Sierra Vista Regional Health Center is an 88-bed, Joint Commission accredited, acute care facility with 70 active, 37 courtesy, and 9 Allied Health physicians on staff. SVRHC has more than 7,600 annual patient visits with 28,000 annual emergency room visits and 375,000 tests performed annually in their accredited full-service laboratory. SVRHC is has State of the art technology and is a well-appointed and maintained hospital.

The Community of Sierra Vista The city of Sierra Vista is located around 70 miles southeast of Tucson and is easily accessible to visitors and business travelers alike, via Interstate 10 and State Route 90. The city enjoys the benefits of a bypass system, which allows motorists to travel around the area quickly and easily. Sierra Vista has a population of 44,000 and is home to Fort Huachuca, a major military intelligence and communications center, which is the region’s largest employer. The city has all the amenities of a large town and is very well represented by both public and private school systems as well as community colleges and universities.
